# Share

By default, we do not attempt to have search engines index shared links. 

However, anyone with access to an active link can view the shared investment or valuation.

### What is Sharing?

Sharing an investment or valuation allows anyone with a the link to view the item.

Sharing can useful for those outside of the immediate due diligence process to get insight into a particular investment or valuation.

### How to Share Investments or Valuations on Countercyclical

Sharing in Countercyclical is simple, and takes only a few seconds to do:

#### Step 1 - Navigating to Share

Inside of an investment or valuation, click on the button in the top right named "Share".  This is also where you invite your workspace members to an investment:

#### Step 2 - Creating a Public Link

Once the modal has popped up, click on the right-most button titled "Share". Then, click on the switch button next to the title "Create Public Link":

#### Step 3 - Sharing the Link

Please note that sharing an investment or valuation gives view access to anyone with the link.&#x20;

Share active links at your's and your team's own discretion.

After you get this to this step, you will have generated a public link for the entire investment:

#### Step 4 (Optional) - Adjusting Visibility

If you want to limit visibility to a single valuation within your investment, click on the Visibility dropdown and selection "Valuation":

Once you've selected "Valuation" for the visibility setting, you should see that a new dropdown now shows that allows you to select which valuation you'd like share:

Your link will be inactive until you either select a valuation from the dropdown list or switch back to make the entire investment visible.

After selecting a valuation, your link will reactivate and be shareable just like before:

### Permissions

Comments, along with other sensitive information and actions, are not visible nor accessible to anyone outside of those immediately invited to the investment or valuation(s).

By default, those with access to the link are only able to view an investment or valuation. Edit, comment, and other elevated permissions are disabled.

That said, further functionality may be supported in the future.

### Turning Off or Regenerating a Link

If you wish to turn off a link, simply click on the button titled "Turn Off Share".

If you wish to regenerate a link, follow the same step as above for turning a link off, but then click on the switch button again to regenerate the link (adjust any visibility settings as necessary):
