Zapier is a popular automation tool that connects thousands of different apps and services without needing to write code. It allows users to create automated workflows known as "Zaps."
Each Zap consists of a Trigger (an event that starts the workflow) and one or more Actions (tasks performed by other apps when the trigger event occurs).
By integrating with Zapier, Countercyclical enables you to automatically:
Create new Investments when specific events occur in other apps.
Trigger events in third-party tools when an Investment is added, updated, or deleted.
Automate repetitive workflows, saving time and reducing manual tasks.
Trigger: An event in Countercyclical (e.g., an Investment being created) that initiates a workflow in Zapier.
Action: A task that is performed as part of the workflow (e.g., creating an Investment in Countercyclical).
Zap: An automated workflow created in Zapier, consisting of a trigger and one or more actions.
To begin using Zapier with Countercyclical, follow these steps:
In order to connect Countercyclical to Zapier, you'll need to generate an API key from the Settings section within your account.
Steps:
Navigate to Settings.
Find the Integrations section.
Click on the Connect button next to the Zapier integration.
Click on the Generate API Key button to generate.
Copy the generated key, as you’ll need this to authenticate your account with Zapier.
If you decide to roll your API key, you will need to reconnect your account in Zapier for your workflows to remain active.
Once you have your API key, you can connect Countercyclical to Zapier by following these steps:
Log into your Zapier account or create a new one at zapier.com.
Click on Create Zap.
In the Zap editor, search for Countercyclical in the Choose App & Event section.
When prompted, enter your API key to connect your account.
Now you are ready to create custom workflows (Zaps) based on Countercyclical's Investments.
A trigger is an event that initiates a Zap. Countercyclical offers multiple triggers based on the lifecycle of an Investment. These triggers allow you to automate actions in other tools whenever an Investment-related event occurs in your workspace.
New Investment
This trigger is activated whenever a new Investment is created in your workspace.
Example use case: Automatically add a new row to a Google Sheet or create a Trello card when a new Investment is added to the platform.
Updated Investment
This trigger is activated when an existing Investment is updated.
Example use case: Send a Slack message or an email notification when an Investment’s status changes (e.g., from "Pending" to "Approved").
Deleted Investment
This trigger is activated when an Investment is deleted from the workspace.
Example use case: Automatically remove the corresponding data from other apps like Airtable or HubSpot when an Investment is removed.
In Zapier, choose Countercyclical as your app in the Trigger section.
Select the type of trigger event you want (e.g., "New Investment").
Choose your connected account (you’ll be prompted to log in if not already connected).
Configure additional settings, such as filtering by specific workspaces.
Add actions that should follow this trigger (e.g., sending data to another app).
Test and activate your Zap.
Actions allow you to create or update data in our platform based on events occurring in other apps. For example, you can set up a Zap that automatically creates an Investment when certain conditions are met in a third-party app.
Create Investment
This action allows you to automatically create a new Investment in your workspace.
Example use case: Automatically create an Investment when a new opportunity is marked as "won" in Salesforce or when a form is submitted in Google Forms.
Update Investment
This action updates an existing Investment in the workspace based on data from other applications.
Example use case: Automatically update an Investment’s details when a project milestone is reached in Asana or Monday.com.
In Zapier, choose Countercyclical as your app in the Action section.
Select the action you want to perform (e.g., "Create Investment").
Choose your connected account.
Define the necessary inputs (e.g., name, date, amount) for creating or updating the Investment.
Add any conditions or filters as needed to control when the action should run.
Test your Zap to ensure it behaves as expected, then activate it.
By integrating our platform with Zapier, you unlock new levels of automation and efficiency. Whether you're automating Investment creation or streamlining your financial workflows, Zapier makes it easy to connect our platform to the tools you already use.
