Filters allow users to perform highly customizable and specific searches, making it easier to find data most relevant to their workflow and due diligence process. Filters are designed to enhance user productivity by offering granular options across three primary categories: Premium Filters, Advanced Filters, and Event Filters.
Each category is tailored to meet specific needs, from accessing proprietary data to filtering by corporate attributes and event-based triggers.

Premium Filters provide enhanced capabilities for users to search and filter data based on proprietary information they import into the platform. These filters are accessible to premium users and allow unique insights derived from custom data, such as:
Custom Data Imports: Users can upload proprietary datasets (e.g., specific financial metrics, internal company analyses) and filter searches based on these custom inputs.
Example: A user imports their internal financial data for a portfolio of companies. Using Premium Filters, they can filter search results by parameters unique to this proprietary dataset.

The Advanced Filters category allows users to filter search results based on a range of attribute-based criteria. This category is designed for users looking to narrow down results based on corporate and demographic characteristics, offering options such as:
Employee Headcount: Filter companies based on the number of employees (e.g., <100, 100–500, 500+).
Headquarters Location: Focus search results based on geographic location, including country, state/territory, city, or zip code.
Industries and Sectors: Filter by industry classifications (e.g., technology, healthcare) and sectors (e.g., software, pharmaceuticals).
Example: A user searching for technology companies based in Europe with over 500 employees could use the Advanced Filters to streamline these results efficiently.
Event Filters enable users to refine search results based on various events and corporate actions. This category is ideal for users monitoring recent activities or significant events impacting companies and industries:
News Feeds: Filter companies based on recent news mentions, press releases, and major headlines.
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A): Target companies involved in recent or historical M&A activities.
Earnings Releases: Filter results based on companies with recent or upcoming earnings announcements.
Example: A user can use Event Filters to find companies with recent M&A activity in the past six months, helping to track trends and opportunities within the market.

The Filters panel is located on the left sidebar of the Search page. Users can select filters from any or all categories in combination to customize their search criteria.
Selecting Filters: Click on a filter category to expand options and select specific criteria within each category.
Combining Filters: Multiple filters can be applied across categories to narrow search results. For instance, you could apply a Premium Filter with custom data, an Advanced Filter for employee headcount, and an Event Filter for recent M&A transactions.
Dynamic Results Update: As filters are applied, the results dynamically update based on your search, providing immediate feedback and allowing users to fine-tune their search in real-time.
Custom Filters are saved filters that a user can create within Countercyclical to easily reuse custom filter logic over and over again.
You can save any number of filters as a Custom Filter simply by adding the filters, and then clicking "Save as Custom Filter" in the bottom of the left side bar, or by clicking the "Save" button in the top-right of the filters row.
