Sessions are not the same as Audit Logs, though there are a lot of overlapping concepts.
To learn more about Audit Logs, please visit the documentation page here.
Sessions provide users with the ability to create and manage sessions effectively, ensuring continuity and efficiency in their research activities. By leveraging Sessions, users can log into the platform, have sessions created, manage their sessions, and restore previous sessions to recover their Tabs. This functionality enhances the user experience by saving time and maintaining a consistent workflow.
Session Creation: Automatically create a new session upon logging into the platform.
Session Management: Easily manage multiple sessions to organize your research work.
Session Restoration: Restore previous sessions to recover your Tabs and continue your work seamlessly.
When you log into the platform, a session is automatically created for you. This session will capture your current state, including all open Tabs and research activities.
Login: Enter your credentials on the login page.
Session Initialization: Upon successful login, a new session is initiated, and you are ready to begin your research. Working as you would, and we'll worry about saving your session in the background.
Managing sessions allows you to switch between different periods without losing your Tabs. You can view all your sessions, restoring existing ones, or revoke (delete) old ones.
Navigation: Click on the "Sessions" tab in the main navigation menu.
Session List: View a list of all your sessions, including the session name, creation date, and last accessed date.
Creating a New Session
You can create a new session by simplying logging into another browser or application instance.
Switching Between (Restoring) Sessions
Session Selection: From the Sessions tab, select the session you wish to switch to by clicking on its name.
Automatic Save: Your current session will be automatically saved before switching to the selected session.
Revoking (Deleting) a Session
Delete Button: Click the "Delete" button next to the session you wish to remove.
Confirmation: Confirm the deletion to permanently remove the session.
Restoring a session allows you to recover all your open Tabs and continue your research from where you left off. This feature is particularly useful after logging out or if your session is interrupted.
Restoring a Session
Sessions Tab: Navigate to the "Sessions" tab.
Select Session: Click on the session you want to restore.
Restore Button: Click "Restore" to open the session with all previously opened Tabs and activities.
Soon, you will be able to give each session a descriptive name that reflects the research project or period you're working in to easily identify, and potentially restore, it at a later date.
