Countercyclical offers a seamless integration with Make, allowing users to automate their research-related workflows. Through this integration, users can create custom "triggers" and "actions" based on the Investments within their workspace.
This powerful feature enables users to streamline their due diligence processes, saving time and reducing the risk of manual errors by automating critical yet often rote tasks.
What is Make?
Make is a no-code platform that allows users to automate workflows by connecting different apps and services. It enables users to design workflows (called “scenarios”) using triggers and actions across various platforms. With Make, users can automate repetitive tasks, integrate with multiple tools, and build advanced workflows without needing to write code.
With Countercyclical's integration with Make, users can create custom workflows to automate actions related to their Investments. Our API allows you to set up triggers (e.g., when a new Investment is created) and actions (e.g., create a new Investment in your workspace) based on specific events or conditions.
Key Features of the Integration:
Custom Triggers: Automatically trigger workflows in Make whenever key events occur in your workspace, such as:
A new Investment is created.
An Investment reaches a specified status (e.g., completed, closed).
Custom Actions: Initiate actions in Countercyclical based on a workflow triggered in Make, such as:
Creating an Investment in Countercyclical based on data from Make.
Updating an existing Investment record with information passed from a Make scenario.
Setting Up the Integration
To begin using the Make integration, follow these steps:
Step 1: Create an API Key
Log in to your Countercyclical account.
Navigate to Settings in the main menu.
Under the Integrations tab, find the Make section.
Click on Connect button.
Once the dialog appears, click on the Generate API Key button.
This API key will be used to connect Countercyclical with Make.
Step 2: Connect to Make
Go to Make and log into your account.
In Make, create a new scenario by clicking Create New Scenario.
Select Countercyclical from the list of available apps in Make.
When prompted, input the API Key you created in Step 1 to authenticate your connection to Countercyclical.
Step 3: Build Custom Triggers and Actions
Once the connection is established, you can begin creating scenarios that leverage Countercyclical’s API.
Creating a Trigger:
In Make, select Create New Trigger.
Choose one of Countercyclical's trigger events, such as “Investment Created.”
Specify the conditions that should activate the trigger (e.g., all new Investments or only those within a specific workspace).
Map the data fields from Countercyclical to the desired fields in Make.
Creating an Action:
In your Make workflow, add an action step.
Select an action supported by Countercyclical (e.g., “Create Investment”).
Configure the necessary fields to create a new Investment based on inputs from Make (e.g., investment name, ticker symbol, amount).
When the Make scenario runs, it will automatically create an Investment in your Countercyclical workspace.
Example Scenarios
Here are a few examples of how you can leverage the Make integration with Countercyclical:
Example 1: Create Investment Upon Form Submission
Use a form tool (e.g., Typeform) as the trigger in Make.
When a user submits the form, automatically create a new Investment in your workspace using the submitted data.
Example 2: Notify Team When Investment Is Created
Set up a trigger in Make to activate when a new Investment is created in your workspace.
Use Make to send a notification (e.g., via Slack or email) to relevant team members, informing them of the new Investment.
